Zeus's Hideaway
Zeus, the king of gods in Greek mythology, was preceded by five siblings who were all eaten by their father Kronos. Rhea bore Zeus secretly in the Dikteon Cave on the isle of Crete and left him in the care of a nymph. Hidden and protected, he grew until he was old enough to conquer his father and free his siblings. The cave was sacred to followers of Zeus for many centuries, but now you may visit and behold the magic firsthand.
