Apsara

"I am the dancer of the Gandharvas' music that echo deep in the gods' palaces. I provide entertainment and sometimes more to the magnificent."

Spirit derives from India and Southeast Asia.

Apsara is translated to "nymph", "celestial nymph", and "celestial maiden".

Apsaras are female nature spirits which inhabit clouds and water bodies.

First documented in the Sanskrit Vedas, they star in myths from India, Cambodia, Laos, Mauritius, and elsewhere. They are frequent subjects of Cambodian classical dance. Apsaras live in trees, specifically banana or figs, which can symbolize male and female genitalia respectively. This is no coincidence. Apsaras are spirits of sex and fertility, companions of the Gandharvas, male spirits of air and music.
